Ebay has been very busy for us the past 2 or 3 months.  Not that I'm complaining!!!
I did not realize that so many crafters were searching for scrap yarn to use for what ever reason.  I've always had 100's  (and I do mean 100's) of pounds of yarn in balls, skeins and on cones in our home since we sell on Ebay and Etsy.

What fascinates me is Free Form Crochet and Free Form Knitting or known in some areas as Scrumbling.  The absolutely beautiful results that can be created and the minds that have the ability to combine, colors, shapes, fibers, textures and more, into mind-blowing art.

This beautiful Free Form Crochet Scarf is from Etsy seller: MonkeyHouseShop

Fight Breast Cancer All Year Round

Breast Cancer can be a life altering disease, awful to go through but when you get to the other side, suddenly you breathe again and think, OK I'm going to try and make every minute count from here on.
Breast Cancer Survivor and still knitting and crocheting.  Yeah!

I found this wonderful t-shirt while goofing off on Pinterest.  I love it!  It says a lot about who I am.  For some reason I'm one of those creatures that hates to perform a self breast check.  I don't like the feel, squishy, texture and afraid I might find something.  Dumb Huh!!!  Thank goodness for a very perceptive Nurse Practitioner.  I had one small biopsy years and years earlier which turned out not to be cancer.  OK, I can live with that, literally.

But one visit, about 9 years ago has totally changed my perspective.  The Nurse Practitioner felt something and it was tiny.  I mean tiny.  But she made me look for it and low and behold, there it was.  A light went on, and now I knew what to watch for in the future.  But, the future was already there.  I was so lucky that when she found the lump, as it was only beginning.  It was cancer, within 2 days I was in the hospital had surgery and 7 days later I was on my way to California for a family wedding.  FAMILY WEDDING!!  If I hadn't kept the appointment, which let's face it ladies, we feel like it's an interruption, time consuming, an invasion to your life and no one likes to have their boobs smashed in a machine that surely a man designed.

Oh, poor babies that we are....  Go get a check up, have a mammogram, get everything checked that is possible to check.  I mean it!!  If I hadn't gone,  I could have missed two more weddings, my grandchildren growing up, one great granddaughter, moving closer to my family (which is always a great thing : ),  two more great grandbabies AND, life with my husband as we grew up, older, and closer as the years have flown by. And, I could go on.  But I won't.

If you get a few minutes check out this t shirt.  Wise Breast Cancer Tee Shirt

Regrouping my yarn and pattern addiction

Today is a new day. I've decided I'm going to learn to blog and blog something that maybe someone else would enjoy. So, if you love crochet, knitting, Ravelry, Pinterest, Etsy and Ebay, there could be something here for you. I sell on Ebay and Etsy, but we can talk about that at a later date.
Here are a few things you might find while visiting.

A New Page: Crochet Patterns & Ideas

Just getting started so have patience ad check back

Finding unique AND inexpensive yarns and online places to buy them is sort of a hobby. I started sleuthing yarn before there were websites. You had to write to a tiny ad in the back of a craft magazine. I always wanted to write for info about THE 99 POUND WEAKLING (some of you seasoned readers might remember) and how to become big and muscle bound.  I got a few years older and a few pounds heavier and realized I didn't need the help to overcome being a 99 pound weakling. I did it all by myself.
I have a passion for collecting patterns. Freebies and otherwise.
Reading other blogs inspired me and still inspire me.
I want to feature other crafter's work.

Kentucky. Yes, Kentucky. I want to share some of the best and maybe next best info about where I live.
So, stay tuned, sign up, check back and visit often. This might just work. I'll keep the light on for you, no matter how late you check in.

Found a Great Quaint Yarn Shop

Harriette's Knit Knook in Madison, IN, it's located at 103 East Main, right next door to the old and still running, Ohio Movie Theater.

If you're ever out on vacation near Southern Indiana, make sure to stop in. This lady has lots of yarn, lovely name brands, books, patterns and beautiful items made up to sell for the crafts person or not. Learning classes galore and all topped off with lots of charm.

Madison, IN is a riverfront town. Not real big, which is great cause you can walk up and down Main St and check out all the super little shops and fantastic places to eat. Make sure to drive down to the river and sit a spell. You can watch the barge boats run up and down the river and they're starting work on the new bridge between Kentucky and Indiana. They have picnic tables, lots of places to park, benches and even a couple of restaurants.
